Fathers Day

This morning’s Fathers’ Day assembly was very well attended by family and friends. It was lovely to see that so many Dads were able to join us. Cream teas were enjoyed in the hall before Dads were invited to spend some time in the classroom with their child.

This is the second time we have organised this special assembly and it has proved very popular with Dads and Grandads.

Sponsored Marathon

The pupils are very enthusiastic about our fundraising marathon. All pupils are taking part in a sponsored marathon, walking a mile a day to raise money for school. So far they have walked 10 miles. Class one are attempting a half marathon and so far have walked 5 miles. Thank you to all parents and friends who have provided sponsorship.

The Queen’s 90th Birthday

We celebrated Queen Elizabeth’s Birthday with a special assembly followed by cream teas. The children were dressed as kings or queens for the day and some of the outfits were very original. Winners for the best King or Queen were: Elfiya-Mae; Dylan Chapman; Amy Couper and Libby Marlow. Sorena’s grandpa won the best dressed adult prize.  The Staff cake raffle was surprisingly popular and we raised a total of £250.Thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the day.

Saffron Lane Athletics

Pupils in KS2 took part in the Saffron Lane Small Schools Athletics competition. All tried very hard and Maisie Smith did exceptionally well in the throwing competition, earning her a place at the Large School Athletics which she won! Maisie is now a county throwing champion.

Well done Maisie we are proud of your achievement.

Class 2 Trip

Class 2 trip to Cadbury World was a real adventure for the pupils who learnt about the origins of chocolate and the process used to make it. This linked with their topic work on Rainforests.

RE Trip to see Places of Worship

Class 3 and 4 trip to the Jain Temple and St Mary’s Church in Leicester included a walk along Clarendon Park Road where a number of different places of worship were seen. Our pupils were complimented on their good manners and polite behaviour.

Collective Worship

This week in prayers we have been thinking about: Our Father
